The Doors Are Open

Yesterday I officially opened the doors to my herbal practice, An Duir Glas. BUT, it's not just that. I also opened the doors to a bigger collaboration called Newport Wellness. It has been such a special journey to get to this moment. Everything that has happened and the way everything has unfolded has been nothing short of magic.
It all started with a conversation. I met my friend Sarah Jane for tea and we were talking about opening our practices. You see, she is a recently qualified acupuncturist who has been a practicing homeopath for many years, and I was about to qualify as a clinical herbalist. As we were talking about our plans for the future, little did we both know, seeds were being planted in that moment which would grow into Newport Wellness.
The way that things typically come together for me in my life has always been a combination of my deep felt intuition lining up with the external reality around me. I can always feel when I'm on the right path and the doors all start to open.
This was no different.
I was originally thinking that I would set up my clinic in Castlebar. I knew that I wanted to open a wellness centre and that I wanted my practice to be part of a larger collective of holistic practitioners that I would initiate. Together, we would be a hub of health support for our local community (and beyond). But after that conversation with Sarah Jane, I decided to have a look and see what, if anything, was available in Newport as I live less than 5 minutes from town. And would you know, there was one commercial space available to rent and it was located in the same building where I have been hosting a woman's circle for two years.
I knew immediately that this was the right space. It has two separate practice rooms with a large entryway/waiting room area, toilets, storage, and a kitchen. So I began reaching out to some of my contacts to see if anyone was interested (or knew anyone who was interested) in sharing the space. Sarah Jane immediately got in touch. I was then contacted by a third woman practitioner, Jane, who has been looking for the right fit for her for some time. Jane is a life coach and she offers reiki and also meditation classes and workshops. Together, the three of us met to visit the space together and have tea and get to know one another to see if we would all be a good fit together. So many synchronicities came together in that meeting and we all knew that this was a yes. Just before we signed the lease and got the keys, the estate agent who manages the space contacted me to say that she had a fourth woman practitioner who was looking for a space and asked if I would be interested to meet her. That's when Imelda, who is an art psychotherapist, came and completed Newport Wellness.
It feels like such a dream come true to not only be starting my herbal practice after 5 years of study and hundreds and hundreds of clinical hours, but to be doing so in collaboration with these three other women who are all opening their practices along side me.
I know that all the doors opening and everything aligning doesn't necessarily mean that everything will just be smooth sailing from here on out. Every good thing in life takes effort and love and dedication and nurturing to keep it going ... plus a bit of magic.
In gratitude,
Lindsay

Well done Lindsay. Wishing you all great success ✨
